About Swinging Axe

Updated on

Swinging Axe is an independent site that helps you choose a golf launch monitor. We put radar and camera models side by side and explain the differences in plain words.

You don't need to know golf-tech lingo to read it. We explain terms like carry, spin and smash factor as we go.

What we cover

Our guides cover budget, mid-range and home-simulator launch monitors from brands like Garmin, Rapsodo, Shot Scope, PRGR, Voice Caddie and FlightScope. We also cover the phone apps, simulator software, subscriptions and setup steps that come with them.

You'll also find help with the gear around a monitor: impact screens, hitting mats and enclosure kits for a garage or spare room. New pages are added over time.

How we work

For every monitor we cover, we read the specs, the features and the maker's own details. We also look at what buyers often say after they've set one up.

Then we turn that into clear picks, honest trade-offs and short how-to guides. Our How we research page explains the method.

What we are not

Swinging Axe is not a store, and we don't make or sell launch monitors or any other golf gear. No brand pays us to rank its products.

We aren't affiliated with Garmin, Rapsodo, Shot Scope, PRGR, Voice Caddie, FlightScope, SkyTrak, Uneekor or any other maker. We also don't claim to have hit balls with every monitor we cover.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which monitors we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
